Somerstock music festival features two outside stages, the Trebble Roofing Stage and the Somerton Windows Stage to provide continuous music from 11am through to 11pm with our fantastic headline act, The Christians, appearing at 10pm to round off the evening.

The Marquee Stage will open with a silent disco for children starting at 12 midday, followed by local and up and coming bands. Finally we have a silent disco for all, sponsored by CRS Building Supplies, running through to midnight, when the Festival ends.

Renowned for an endless string of soulful yet socially aware hits... Forgotten Town, Ideal World, Born Again, Harvest for the World, Whats in a Word, Hooverville, Words, Father, The Bottle and many more The Christians enjoyed huge acclaim in the late 80s and early 90s both in the UK and Europe and often confused people with their band name (in fact just the brothers surname with absolutely no religious connotation!).

Still headed by enigmatic lead singer Garry Christian (who very much deserves the Daily Mirror’s description of him as having ‘one of the finest voices in pop') who has only gained in vocal stature (and wit) over the years! the band are enjoying a revival.

The Tom Waters Band

Appearing at Somerstock in 2019 alongside his father, the brilliant Ben Waters who has now retired from touring,

Tom Waters has recorded with music legends such as The Rolling Stones, Ray Davies, and Ronnie Wood. He has made a name for himself on the touring circuit playing with bands such as The Jools Holland Rhythm and Blues Orchestra, Mick Taylor, Mungo Jerry, Broken Social Scene and Nine Below Zero.

Between the age of 13 and 16, Tom’s education was unconventionally fulfilled by travelling the world with his dad, the boogie woogie piano ace Ben Waters.  This provided him with the opportunity to play with second line bands in Chicago (Southern Comfort Brass Band), pop bands in Canada (Broken Social Scene), join locals to play traditional music in Argentina and Uruguay and to sit with Keito Saito in Tokyo.  Tom even had a solo show on Broadway (The Iridium).

Tom now has his own band and returns to Somerton for Somerstock 2020. Educated at the Purcell School of Music and currently attending the Royal Academy of Music, combined with opportunities for touring and performing alongside his dad Tom is fast becoming one of Englands greatest exponents for blues\Jazz saxophone. He was brilliant last year so don't miss him in 2020.
